Reading and books in general have been a huge part of my life since I was a little girl. Honestly, I just can’t imagine what my life would be like without books. I have great respect for those who share their imaginations and literary creativity with the world…However, my personal admiration plays no role in my opinion of the book itself. – I do not give good reviews, they are earned. My opinions are honest, unbiased and presented in an informative and easy to navigate format. It’s my goal to share the magic of books with others in a friendly setting, much like sitting with friends in the den.

First of all I would like to say great blog! I had a
quick question that I’d like to ask if you
don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself
and clear your thoughts prior to writing. I have had trouble
clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out.
I do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted
simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints?

As for getting centered to write – It’s different for everyone. What relaxes you? Music, prayer, meditation? I keep a notepad handy and when an idea of how to say something hits me I can get it down before loosing it. The only suggestion I have is don’t stress trying to make the words come. I’ve found this only creates a longer period of wasted time.

Love your site. I have a wordpress blog as well but am having a hard time moving around in it and adding things to it, I think it’s because it’s the free version and it’s limited. Unless I’m such a dummy and just don’t get it. My blog at blogspot is much easier for me (they do everything you just add the content).
I’m a book reader and reviewer and also participate in giveaways and contests. I’ve found a lot of sites that I just love since I’ve started my blog.

I am now addicted to audio, I had never bought or even listened to one until after I read a few of your reviews, I found Simple Genius at the library and loved it, (even though I had read the book when it first released, I really enjoyed it and noticed a few things I either missed or had forgotten. it was great.) I have a collection going and a wish list a mile long, I should buy some stock in Hachete Books since I am buying so many of their books. A million kudos and thank yous for your wonderful reviews and opening the audio door for this book lover, at 50 I am once again excited about Christmas (because I know I am getting lots of new audio books)

I really enjoyed your blog, I can tell how passionate you are in reading and sharing your thoughts about books.
I know that everyone has their opinion about a book and not any 1 opinion is the right one for all…
but when you tell your story and review of what the books took you through, it was, for the most part, the same review I would give.

Great blog. You have an eye for design- it looks great, inviting and pleasing to the senses which sets the ideal mood for enjoying a book.
